Cold start at -30C

Hi, I took a video starting my car up at -30 Celsius.
Can you please tell me if the car's starting up strong compared to others, and possibly why it's making this high pitched noise for around 5 seconds(Only heard when it's below -20C).

Thanks.

(Engine starting at 0:55)

Dude it's -30, nothing is happy starting at that temperature. Sounds fine, like every other civic I've had and started when it's cold as *****. That squeal is from a belt and expected at that temp. If you're dedicated you could try to tighten the belts, but I wouldn't be worried about it.

Haha, I know it's really gd dmn cold- but wanted to know if my car's below par or something. I'm just glad it still starts without block heater. I wouldn't even bother trying to fiddle with the car at this temperature, but will there be any notable damage being done to the car if I keep starting the car that's sat out there overnight like this?

None, the belt is just squawking because it's cold.
just make sure you keep your oil topped up and clean. A semi or full synthetic if you feel like spending money.

Already have Pennzoil full syn oil in there, and feel a lot confident starting the car in this weather with that in it.

Just hoping transmission holds!

What's your mileage? Your video only shows the trip mileage. Just like the engine, keep the trans fluid clean, no flushes, only drain and fills. As for fluid you should use the Honda fluid, but I've personally used the Total version of it, and other people have used Valvoline maxlife

386,000Km now, waiting for the weather to warm up so I can do second drain&fill with Maxlife
