engine vibrates and knocking sounds then stall after timing belt changed
'01 Civic ES1 D16W9 Engine
I've decided to replace the timing belt, water pump and tensioner bearing of my car but after replacing it, the car won't start. It just cranks but it won't start. It can start with the help of stepping on the gas pedal. If you rev, the engine vibrates and I'm hearing a knocking sound on the top of the valve. And when you release the gas pedal, the car stalls.
While replacing the new timing belt, I've tripled checked all the timing marks (on the camshaft pulley, timing belt pulley and harmonic balancer) are on placed. But still, it won't start.
Fuel pump and main relays works fine, there is spark in the ignition, all sensors are working and throttle body is cleaned.
What have I done wrong?
Please help me guys. Thank you..

After setting timing you rotated the engine 2 full rotations right?
This ensures if part of the belt was hung up by a tooth somewhere it will seat and let you see if the timing is true.

Re: engine vibrates and knocking sounds then stall after timing belt changed
I could be wrong since I timed a d17a2 which has electric ignition.
But is it possible that the timing was set and the crank shaft was rotated so that the wrong cylinder is receiving spark?
Check to see if there is a specified piston that needs to be at TDC when timing.
