The oil leak that just won't go away

Bought this '01 EX 5 speed coupe a couple years ago with a fairly healthy oil leak. Not knowing much about Hondas, I ASSumed it was something simple like a valve cover gasket and didn't think much of it. Since then, the head gasket and timing belt was changed, along with the clutch assembly. The transmission output shaft seals were bad and replaced, rear main was dry but we replaced it anyway, and all of the seals on the engine were supposedly replaced by the mechanic that did the head gasket. Valve cover does not appear to be leaking. I honestly cannot think of any other gasket that hasn't been replaced, and the oil gets spray around enough to make finding the leak difficult. Any common problem areas that I may be missing?

Best thing to do is clean the engine really well then go for a short drive. That should help narrow down where the leak is originating from.

There are some common oil leak suspects but none to my knowledge that cause oil to spray around.

My fav are vtec solenoid, oil pump o-ring, and doubled up oil filter seal.

But don’t discount what a mess that manual transmission will do if the drivers side axle is not seated all the way or the seal is bad.

Could be the outer CV axle is torn and is spraying grease on the bottom of the engine.
