Angry Engine or tranny leak? Or broken cv axle?

WATS GOING ON FELLAS? SO I DAILY DRIVE A 04 CIVIC VP SEDAN AUTO TRANSMISSION. I JUST REPLACED MY ENGINE MOUNTS WITH SOME INNOVATIVE MOUNTS 60A REDS LIKE 2 DAYS AGO. IVE HAD A LEAK BEFORE, ITS IN THE DRIVER SIDE, BUT KNOW ITS GETTING KINDDA WORSE TO THE POINT WHERE I CAN SMELL THE OIL BURNING DUE TO THE FACT THAT THE ENGINE IS HOT. AT 1ST IT WAS NOTICABLE BECAUSE IT WILL ONLY SPREAD AROUND WERE THE OIL DRAIN PLUG IS LOCATED. NOW IM NOTICEING SOME OIL ON THE REAR MOTOR MOUNT, WITCH THEN SPREADS DOWN TO THE PIPE/EXHAUST. IM GUESSING IT CAN BE MY CV AXLE, BECAUSE THERE IS SOME OIL AROUND THE INNER BOOT THAT CONNECTS TO THE TRANSMISSION, OR IT MAY BE A GASKET? IDK, HEAD GASKET? TRANSMISSION GASKET? ANY OTHER GASKET?
I DONT HEAR ANY NOISE WHILE IM DRIVEING, WELL SOME TIMES WHEN IM PARKING AND STEER THE WHEEL ALL THE WAY, I HEAR A HARD KNOCK BUT ITS NOT ALL THE TIME. IM GUESSING ITS MY CV AXLE.
YOU GUYS THINK I SHOULD JUST REPLACE IT OR PAY A MECHANIC $40 TO CHECK IT OUT? WHERE DO U GUYS RECOMEND ME BUYING A CV AXLE 4RM? WAT BRANDS SHOULD I LOOK 4?

Re: Engine or tranny leak? Or broken cv axle?

are you sure its transmission oil and not engine oil?

it could be something as simple as your oil filter leaking....take your oil filter off, inspect the gasket and make sure you put it back on tight, put some oil on the gasket

valve cover gasket?

if there is oil near the crank pulley you could have a leak in the timing area, cam seal, crank seal, oil pump

Oil filter is on really good, i mean last time i changed my oil was 4k miles ago, i change it every 5k scinse i use synthetic. it would of leaked before dont u think? IDK ill take a look at it real close.
I do have a small leak around the valve cover gasket, but oil stays on top, doesnt really come all the way to the back part of the engine.
crank pulley/timing area? now that u mention it, when i changed my timing belt, i did not replace the gasket, that can be it too.
But what should i do 1st?

look closely at the crank pulley from underneath the engine......if you have a leak in the timing area, it will look like oil is leaking from between the crank pulley and the engine.....

also inspect your oil pan gasket.....

you could also remove the upper timing cover.....if you have a leak in there chances are your belt will be covered in oil

a timing gasket does not seal oil, it only seals air so dust and dirt doesnt get in there.....if he meant the leak is coming FROM the timing gasket, that means a seal inside that area is leaking....there are 4 possibilities, valve cover gasket, cam seal, crank seal, or oil pump

you need to find the source of the problem/oil and fix whatever it is.....im just suggesting what to look at.....

its probably best to first determine what type of fluid it is.....tranny or engine oil....that will at least point you in the right direction

well if you wipe some of the oil that is leaking onto your hand, or onto a cloth, you should easily be able to tell the difference.....tranny fluid will be pink, engine oil will be brown/black

1st time i checked the oil it looked dark, kindda black/purple.
2nd time it looked dark/gray.
last time i checked it looked black.

well heres a picture, i took it 4rm the driver side, behind the wheel.
i was just getting home 4rm work, when i looked at the engine 4rm the inner fender well, some smoke was coming out, and this area, right under the 2 golden bolts, witch is were the axle boot is located that connects 2 the tranny
