So, on my 02 Civic EX, how do the headlights/high beams work?
My high beams only change the direction of the light, doesn't make them any brighter...and the light on my dash for the high beams is lit up when they are off and dims when they are on...
Also, what is the plug thing called that my headlamp goes into? One of my lights is way dimmer than the other, but still operational and barely legal, and the plug is corroded as all hell.
Ideas on how to proceed?

high beams is called high in terms of the height they will light on the roads.
Have you polished the lenses? are they hazy?
how old are the bulbs? the prongs in the headlight side are the bulbs themselves, which i am assuming are the ones you say are corroded
