Does it have an aftermarket stereo? Check under-dash fuse 10 (7.5 A). I believe the '05 DX still has the LED backlit cluster so no bulbs to check.

Do not connect the illumination wire/connector on after-market audio units.

Re: Bypass dimmer switch

I'm going to assume the orange wire was hooked up at one time and damaged the cluster. Or the cluster is just bad. I would recommend grabbing another one from the junkyard.

Re: Bypass dimmer switch

The only thing I can think of at this point would be to rip apart the gauge cluster and check for faulty solder connections. better yet, check the blue/green plug wires and see if there is any damage to wiring. The 03-05 gauge cluster has soldered SMD LEDs illuminating the gauge cluster, so bulb replacement is out of the question. The only way to truly bypass the dimmer switch would be to solder a jump wire between the connections of the dimmer switch, anyways.

You can always replace the gauge cluster and hope it works, too, but you'd have to deal with the incorrect odometer reading or get it corrected

Re: Bypass dimmer switch

Did you twist the little button for adjusting the brightness of the dash lights?

Do you know which two wires I need to jump to make the cluster lights work
