alarm remote 2002 question
alarm remote 2002 question
Hello All,
Don't come on here much because the whip runs pretty good. However, it recently does strange things with the alarm/lock remote when trying to use the fob. Strange as in the door lock indicator on the drivers side will not go down all the way when pressing the button on the fob, rendering the alarm useless. Locking feature works fine when key is used. Any ideas?
THANKS,
Chuck

Re: alarm remote 2002 question
Try working the locks several times..... lock/unlock, then see if the lock works normal (for a short time)
Could indicate weak acuator. Pretty common on 7th gens.

Re: alarm remote 2002 question
Hey All,
I replaced the actuator but still a no go. My father believes it is something in the wiring passing through the dash and going into the door. Unbelievable bs as I may have to leave it be and classify this as "unsolvable".

Re: alarm remote 2002 question
I have had a couple of instances of wire repair in the driver's door hinge area but for non-operable power windows. It is a common repair on these vehicles as they age.
