2004 Civic stereo and cigarette lighter not working
Greetings,
I've checked fuse #8 under the steering wheel and it is fine. The stereo has power, all controls work, but no sound.
Suggestions?
Thanks! Brad

Check the fuses under the hood.
There is a back up fuse that you need to check also.
If all the fuses check out okay then your radio might be bad.

Duh on me. Aux power works - tested at 12v. My testing units, a phone charger wasn't long enough to reach the power, and my powered flashlight's bulb was burnt out. Arrgghh.
So tomorrow, pulling the stereo. As earlier posts suggested, I'm betting stereo is bad.
Thanks everyone for the suggestions. Appreciated.
I'll report back with radio/CD player unit update.

Do yourself a favor and grab you a $30 multimeter at home depot or lowes. Quite useful for more than just this one instance
I got me a $30 one at home depot a while back, and it's done me well. I replaced it with a Fluke brand one my step dad gave me, and been using that since, well, Fluke brand and they're quite expensive. lol

If this is an after-market audio unit, then problems have occurred when the Illumination wire from the unit is connected to the vehicle - solution is to not connect this.
There is another ACC Power Socket fuse: #18 (15A) in the Under-Dash Fuse Relay/Box.
You must have a Coupe Civic as you are missing the rear power window fuses.
