2005 LX - unsure if ger light is a
My Drive light / gear light / green bubble flickers in and out a bit, about once every two days. Only when in drive. The light flickers out and tries to flicker back in - an irregular flicker. Maybe it stays off for 8 seconds before it's back, or just flickers a lot. Then everything is normal till the next time. This happens at random. I don't notice any change in the sound or feel, I have enough fluid, I had the transmission worked on to replace a sensor two months ago with no other problems. There is no check engine light. I took it to the mechanic to see if they can read any hidden codes, like TCU data, they say nothing is there, also blew it off saying it's not a big deal (???? what?)... what might this be?
It is maybe possible that accelerating cures the flicker or flickers it back in.
Thanks if you can suggest anything...

Re: 2005 LX - unsure if ger light is a
I would suspect a fault in the D indicator circuit if the D light is just random flickering. Constant D light flashing is another can of worms...
First obvious check would be to check the D indicator bulb in the gauge assembly.
Possibilities are: short in the wire from PCM to gauge assembly, faulty PCM, faulty gauge assembly, short to ground in the wire between PCM and transmission range switch, faulty transmission range switch, loose terminals at PCM, open in wires from PCM and ground, poor ground, open or short in the wire between PCM and Main Fuel Relay, open in the wire between PCM and gauge assembly, faulty D bulb, faulty A/T gear position switch.
Hope it's just the bulb...
