No crank, nothing at all

New here and to 7th gen civics ..... So i replaced my battery cables today due to corrosion and damage ,and now my car wont start even with a jump. I have power to all my fuses besides the power windows. But all other fuses I got voltage showing no blown fuses . Everything did work before doing this. And when I have No key in the ignition I have oil light and engine light on sometimes the green key will be flashing. I looked at all I did and cant figure what I did for this to happen. And help will be much appreciated.... Help me please

Well with no key in the ignition you should not have any lights on the dash. Sounds like some wires got crossed or something shorted.

so I just got home with a code reader to see if i can pull up codes . The car started right up but if i turn anything on my dash starts to go crazy. I replace the thermostat as well yesterday but never hot to bleed the system so that is what I'm doing now. Could it possibly be a alternator?

Nevermind I just found out my code reader connected allowed my car to start. As soon as I removed it I'm back to square one.

Re: No crank, nothing at all

Did you check the mounting bolts for the alternator? What you're describing happens when the alternator bolts are loose and the alternator isn't grounding properly

Check sooner rather than later, you can fry the ecu if you don't fix it

Re: No crank, nothing at all

Check the ground connection on the thermostat housing. If the car starts only with the OBD reader connected it is supplying the missing ground.

Re: No crank, nothing at all

Check fuse #6 (7.5A) in the Under-Dash Fuse/Realy Box for the power windows and the #19 (80A) fuse in the Under-Hood Fuse/Relay Box for the battery and power.
Otherwise check your ground and terminal connection for bare shiny metal surfaces for good contacts.
If you can only start the car when the OBD port is hooked up to a scanner - you may have fried your PCM.

it was the ground I installed off the battery is not supplying a good ground even though I cleaned the surface up. My ground strap from radiator support to thermostat housing was broken since I owned the car so I replaced it and it's all good. Thanks for the help people.

Re: No crank, nothing at all

I hope you cleaned some of the rust off before tightening those down, won't make a good ground if you didn't.

That was my first thought with those pics. Do yourself a favor and take some sandpaper to some of those ground connections, especially that transmission connection. A dremel with a flap wheel would be very helpful, too

Just make sure you have a bare metal connection for that ground.
