Removing the Cigarette Lighter to access wiring.
Hello all. I am new to this forum site and I have searched high and low on this site and a bunch of others but cannot find any answers that help me. Here's the deal:
I own a 2005 Honda Civic EX Special Edition. I want to install interior neon lighting. I want it to look good, no wires everywhere and whatnot. I was hoping to wire the neons to the same wireing as the 12volt adapter (cigarette lighter). Can anyone give me a link to a DIY thread that deals with this? Or post step by step instructions if anyone has done this in the past. Pics help!! I want the neons to turn on when the car is on and vice versa. If there is an easier alternative to this let me know. Thank you all for your help!!!!

Re: Removing the Cigarette Lighter to access wiring.
You remove that panel for a stereo install. It is pretty simple to do.

Are there any other alternatives than doing what is listed in the head unit install? Are there any wires I can tap into below the dash that are easily assessable and will give the same desired effect?

Re: Removing the Cigarette Lighter to access wiring.
To get that far is not that difficult really, remove the trim around shifter. Remove screws & the 12 volt socket pulls back for removal.
Probably one of the easiest access to useful wiring you are going to find in the car.
