Filling Transmission Thru Check Bolt
Filling Transmission Thru Check Bolt
My 2020 Civic LX is due to have its transmission fluid changed. You Tube videos I watched shows that it is necessary to remove the cover at the front of the engine compartment and the air cleaner housing to get to the fill plug. Since the the check bolt needs to be removed to ensure the proper level of the transmission fluid would it be advisable, with a funnel that has a 90 degree bend, to fill the transmission thru the check bolt hole?
Re: Filling Transmission Thru Check Bolt
I don’t see any reason why not, through the check bolt. You end up at the same level.
I considered it, but it wasn’t hard to remove the air box. I also shifted into low gear to get the linkage away from the fill hole, engine off of course.
