diy- transmission fluid
similar procedure, drive the car to warm up the trans, jack up the car, remove the bolt for the transmission (to find it look for the transmission and a size 12-14mm bolt on the bottom) and let the fluid flow. i would only used honda rated fluids only especially if your car is new.
the drain bolt is size 3/8 which you would use a rachet for which is near the front of the car on the very bottom of the tranny....depending on if it is a manual or auto....manual you have to remove the 17mm bolt that is about 4 in above the drain bolt. auto you just pull the dipstick out and fill from above.

I tried reading the manual but it doesnt say much.. I have a manual and all it says is how to check the trans fluid. It says to unscrew the trans bolt under the car and put your finger in the hole to feel the level. Well I did that and the fluid starts pouring out! I'm like WTF? Hopefully they overfilled it otherwise its low now.... And if thats the case how are you supposed to completely drain it then if the hole is above the level of fluid? I am majorly confused, somebody please help! Hopefully there is another bolt that I am missing or something....

IDQcivic: there are 2 bolts, one is higher than the other. The upper one is for checking the level, and the lower one is for draining it out completely. It is normal for the tranny to be a little over-filled, and gush out when you check the level like this, so don't be alarmed.

OK thanks, I'll have to look again. I bought these magnetic drain plugs and I put the oil one in already but when I pulled out the trans plug the hole was too big, maybe when I find the right drain plug then the magnetic drain plug will fit that too because now I have an extra!

Hi all,
For automatic cars, the bolt have a square shape hole is the drain plug. I've changed my ATF with Mobil-One-ATF for three months (40k now). My car runs smoother than before and my car sounds better too. Our cars come with a stock magnetic drain plug for automatic and it looks really nasty when I first removed it. It has a layer of metal particle around the plug. Also, our cars don't have filter for ATF. So, I will highly recommend you to change your ATF.
*Note: Your need about 3 qts ATF.

okok..i cant argue with u cool folks but here is what the owner's manual recommended,change auto/manual trans fluid at 120k miles ,for auto,at 72 months regardless the mileage.fluid capacity is 2.9 US QT,IDQ i can answer your question while i am here.the inspection bolt for fluid level is 44N-m,torque to 33 ft lbs and just below that,is the drain plug bolt 39N-m,its torque at 29ft lbs,the correct fluid level is just at the openin of inspection hole when u fill the fluid in,,make sure u do it slowly and have a person to make sure u stop the fillin when the fluid start to sip out of the inspection hole,the capacity for the fluid change is 1.6 US QT.good luck
