2016 Automatic Startup Drive Shifting

My automatic 2016 Honda Civic starts up and runs fine but when started a few days after sitting unused it tends to take about 10 seconds of revving in drive to move forward. Its been doing this for the past few months and no issues are present once warm and driving. Was looking to advise as to what may be the cause of this issue and how to properly address it. Thanks

Re: 2016 Automatic Startup Drive Shifting

I have not yet. That is on the to do list this week. The car has received normal maintenance at a dealer prior to moving. I found a local honda certified repair location so I am hoping they can help me with everything rather than taking it to a new dealership. Any thoughts on potential cause? I do not drive the car daily so it normally sits 2-3 days between trips.

Re: 2016 Automatic Startup Drive Shifting

is it a CVT? They need quite frequent fluid changes (regular auto trans also do not like old fluid)
fluid change is much cheaper than a damaged trans.

is it due for some time?

Yes its a CVT Automatic Touring model. I will look into this more. I will get the vehicle service history and see. I figure this is something a general maintenance location can perform.

Thanks!
