Rats eating cables
Rats eating cables
I've had nothing but trouble with my 2016 Honda Civic. I've always bought Hondas, but something is seriously wrong with the 2016 model. I think Honda is using inferior materials. Aside from having to have the cheap tires replaced, my latest issue has been with the metal splash plate falling off. It is held on with weak plastic tabs. Luckily, my mechanic used iron bolts to secure it back on. However, right before that, rats got into the engine bay and ate the harness wires, which were made of soy, of all things. Really? Soy? It was not necessary to replace the whole harness (although the dealership insisted that was the only solution) and my trusty local mechanic repaired the damaged wires using a more stable material--not soy. I also have a steering issue that needs a recall, but Honda is weaseling out of that. My next car will be a Toyota or NIssan or something other than Honda, and I will check the tires as well as the materials used for splash plate connection and engine bay harness wires before buying it.
