I entered my car yesterday and 4 warnings popped up on my dashboard : ABS, hill assist , brake system and EPS system. AS WELL, my power steering was gone.
I panicked. Prior to that, nothing was wrong with the vehicle! After leaving it for a night, nothing had changed.
Before bringing in into my local Honda, I was under the impression it was a electrical issue .
I couldn’t see any problem under the hood.
I was told to run the vehicle for thirty minutes , drive. Around and let Honda know if the lights go off/ steering gets easier.
That didn’t work.
30 minutes after I brought it in to Honda. I got a text telling me that “ a rodent had chewed through some wires “ otherwise known as the harness.
this harness, from some research has been known to have wires coated in a soya? soy? Product that is biodegradable/ environment friendly, but also appetizing to rodents .....
the harness replacement cost me about 300$, but insurance covered most.
I am just posting this because, I went to probably 34 sites and forums trying to find a resolution for my issue and figured maybe it can help someone else out one day!
I was really stressed out.
