its not he canadian law, its what honda wants to do.

to answer your first question, your honda waranty is valid anywhere in canada, and i beleive the us as well

to answer your second question, that depends on the dealer, there are some that will honor the waranty and some that wont.

hi, thanks,
that was what I thought too. However, I heart on the "comment on dealers" thread that some poeple got rejected by other dealers and told that they have to go to the dealer where they bought the car to fix any problem. In case this happen, is there anything we can do?

honda will honor its waranty across canada, check your civic manual for the details, it tells you in there.

if a dealer refuses to service your car... just give Honda Canada a call

hi,

do we have to follow the exact check up list on the manuel in order to keep the warrantee?

my car is 30000Km now, I yes, I did follow the check up period but each time I only change oil and oil filter. Also, I didn't go to the dealer, I went to some mech shop or did it myself. Can the dealer use this against us? like charging us in case something breaks down within the warrantee period? because DIY is not acceptable?

thanks, I think this issue of warrantee is important for us, because I guess most of us do DIY oil change, DIY oil filter cahnge and DIY air-intake filter change.

Your mods will not void your warranty. Since, your car is lowered, they can void your suspension warranty, but not other parts. Basically, the rules regarding warranty repairs are that they have to prove that your modifications caused the problem you are having in order to void the warranty. Warranty work can be done at any dealer in N. America.

hey, the dealer in burlington is pretty good.

I bought the car from Montreal and now I hear vibration when I listen to big base music, and I hear really little noise when I close the driver side window.

they will just replace both speakers and window motor for me, and didn't even ask any question!

I've had no complaints about the Burlington dealer either (Halton Honda) except that their parts dept people are retarded. (couldn't find a part for me in their computer, even with the #, but Ideal Honda in Sauga found it no problem)

Must I bring my Honda back to the dealership where I bought it for warranty repairs?

No. You may take your Honda to any authorized Honda vehicle dealer for warranty repairs. All Honda vehicle dealers will be happy to perform these services for you. If you or they have questions regarding the applicability of warranty, they will contact the local Honda Zone Office for directions.

If I have my maintenance services performed by someone other than a Honda dealer, will my warranty be voided?

Not if the maintenance is performed properly. The only way your warranty may be affected is if it can be shown that misuse or improper (or lack of) maintenance caused or contributed to the malfunction.

A Honda dealer's technical training is more current than any after-market shop in town, which means a dealer knows your Honda best and is in the best position to provide proper services at the appropriate intervals.

Will I be asked to pay for any portion of a warranty repair?

No. With the exception of battery replacement after the second year, American Honda will pay 100% of the bill for warranty repairs. Battery warranty coverage is 100% parts and labor for the first two years, and then pro-rated parts coverage for the third year.

As stated above, any modifications will void the warrenty if it caused damaged. You can not be blamed for installing white lights on your car but you want to send in your vehicle for warrenty on the suspension. However the lights will affect your headlight harness, or further to an extent, the electrical system. Be careful what you mod because you don't want to fork out money for repairs.

yeah, in other word,

if you get after market intake, and engine goes wrong, replace back the intake, then go to Honda saying you never changed intake. hehe
