Trade : 98 Type R - '01 Civic Si
Would you do it???
Here's my story...
yesterday I went to the car wash with Flippedout, Bluelle, and Andoy in Mississauga. After we washed our cars we chilled there and hung our cars to dry... hehe At the lot there was a vette and a white Integra Type R. Eventually, Bluelle found out that the Type R was for sale because the dude can't afford the insurance along with his 3 other cars and he's also about to get married. The car has 70 K's on it because he hardly drives the car. I was interested in the car but I didn't bother looking at it cause I still needed to get rid of the Civic before I even think about looking at another car. Later on, the owner of the Type R came up to us and he walked right up to my car and said... "I LOVE THIS CAR!!! When you guys all pulled in I noticed this car right away... I love the colour" I'm sure y'all are thinking the same thing I was... (WHAT THE HECK IS WRONG WITH THIS DUDE??
) To make the long story short, he eventually offered to trade his White Type R '98 with my '01 Civic as long as I pay off what I owe for the Civic. And again I said... (WHAT THE HECK IS WRONG WITH THIS DUDE??
)
He said he'll give me a call as early as tomorrow to next week or I can call him up once I'm done with all the $$$$ issue with Honda.
Of course, before I trade the car I'll do a check on the VIN number make sure it's legit. I ain't stupid!
That's IF I do it!!!

yeah man!!! that ITR looks awesome except for the fact that the hood paint job looks slightly different from the rest of the car... other than that u cant go wrong with a deal like that... but it seems kinda fishy though... im pretty sure he knows something about the ITR that he doesnt want to tell u...

Aside from that, the car is in great condition... I'm sure the peeps that were there can testify that. Body has no chip marks, scratches, or dents... only has an OEM kit and stock white rims. Only thing I want to do is rims, turbo or juice it up...

Once again, I am still not sure whether I will do it or not. It all depends on how the car does when I do some rigorous testing on everything. But assuming that nothing major is wrong with it, then I'll be cruising in an ITR soon time. hopefully!!!!
u gotta think about ur insurance too dude! theres news about the insurance rates going down now cuz the government wants to cap it, but if that doesnt go thru and u get the type-R, ur insurance is definitely gonna go up. check w/ ur insurance to see how much it would be first.
good luck w/ the deal, can't pass up an ITR!

Cue if everything checks out O.K with the Type R (body condition, previous accidents, proper VIN# on all the parts, insurance rates and paint quality) than definitely do the swap. They have way more power, they arent as common as civics, they have better resale and the white look is clean and beautiful.
Just be careful! I would hate to see you get burned.
Good Luck with everything!

has the type r been modded? i dunno check how much a type r would go for, so if the monetary value of the two cars are the same or if little less or more, still ok
Definately go for the ITR, make sure you get a used vehicle package because CarFax is **** compared to the package. Bring it to minimum of two mechanics to verify any problems, might be an idea to bring it to a performance shop so they can verify the engine is in good conditions. The ITR is pretty rare, its a honda, you can always swap it with a GSR if anything happens.
