has SRT 4 rolled off the assembly lines yet? on the market yet? why are they pitting it against 'production' cars?
220whp car without LSD? look there's a pole, might as well run into it now than later.
granted, it's one fast car.

The SRT-4 is in the final pre-production stages... they're due mid next year. Prolly summer. If I ever bought one, I think I'd probably have LSD installed before I drove it off the lot. Maybe they'll come to their senses and either put it in, or offer it as an option. No way in hell I'm putting 240 ft-lbs on the road and not having both wheels going. With this and the 04 Focus SVT (225 HP, 2.3L Turbo), Japan better come up with something.....FAST!

I dont like how it looks, it just has no appeal, period, but i'm not brain dead, this car is going to steal some thunder away from the Japanese.
Hopefully Ford will decide to bring Focus RS here [most likely on the next iteration of Focus, since it's due next year].
I think the Americans mean business this time around.
I'm hoping cars like SRT4 and RS will force Honda to ship over type R, at least in limited numbers.

I just want to ask the prototype/production engineers, how much can it possibly cost to drop in a LSD? maybe few hundred dollars on their part.
if there's one thing I agree on with SCC article, it's that a lot of these 'performance bargains' need LSD.
Acura RSX S FP just might be worth buying if it had LSD as part of the package.

Just to correct the info about the release date for the SRT. It's supposed to start shipping out to dealerships alittle after the new year. So they should be showing up within the next 6 to 8 weeks.
I think it's about time that the domestic companies are pumping out their own pocket rockets right off the lot. In the car biz, it's all about market share. How much of the pie does your company have compared to the next guy. I see this as a really good trend as the ante is raised every time a new model rolls around. Would I buy the SRT4? Maybe if the price is right and if my insurance doesn't kill me. All I would have to do is replace the front bumper with something more eye catching and I'm good to go.
Oh yeah, and LSD wouldn't hurt either.
