you ran a 15.4 in a 7th gen civic bone stock...... Jesus himself told me even he couldn't do that. the best PROVEN time of any 7th gen was a 15.8. and 15.8 is about as good as any stock 7th gen is gonna get.
and as it was stated, a hatch with JUST the B18C swap, no mods, will be running mid 14's with an average driver. so let's say you started at a 15.8 stock, your mods would be LUCKY to get you to 15.2-15.3.
there is no way you're going to win unless this guy is an absolute tool at driving.

I saw a turboed Teggy B18C1 with a tuned 250whp run 9.5-9.8's in the 1/8th last friday night. His '60 times were like 2.2-2.8 That equates to about 13's in the 1/4. TURBOED! No way NA in the low 14's.

if u can't be honest about yourself about what your car can do, you have no chance against the hatch
theres noooooooooooo way ur gonna beat him, unless he misses a gear or screws up..my friend has a b18 hatch with just a cold air intake and spoon rims and he does 14.5's without slicks so i dunno... unless u strip ur car to the bone, get some slicks, mods mods mods ecu maybe ull keep up but still wont win!sorry!
The hatch has a 500 pound advantage.
The engine has a 50 hp and 45 lb torque advantage.
The best I have heard a D17 doing is low 15's without ECU.
The average hatch with a B series does 14's, and the B series responds much better to mods, a 13 second time is realistic.
Those are just facts that can be looked up. Sure there can always be some room for growth, but hey, I have faith in you, but this isn't a junkyard.
And don't be bagging on Jettas, with 1000 dollars they can do 14's. And I know of two that have proof of doing 11's, though not a bad way to spend 10 grand, lol.

Actually I didn't run it , however the next drag racing event is on the 31st of this month and I am scheduled to run him and there will be vids of the runs. (win or lose) Not sure about the money thing but I'll have to see.
