NA 14sec D17A2
Aight fellow members here's the deal..... I got called out to race from another all motor civic. Here's my setup:
Full Tein SS suspension
Energy suspension Bushing kit (front and back)
Neuspeed upper strut bar
Crower stage 3 cam
Crower Titanium spring
Crower Titanium retainers
Crower stainless steel valves
Crower camgear
CP Forged high compression pistons (11.5:1 + .020 overbore)
Crower maxi lite rods
AEM pulley kit
Koyo aluminium racing radiator
B&M short shift kit
ACT Extreme pressure plate
ACT 6 puck copper disc
ACT Prolite flywheel
ARP headstuds
Is it possible to run low 14 to high 13 sec in the quarter mile using slicks???
The race is for $1000. (However it is all motor vs all motor, no turbo or nitrous but anything else is accepted)

edit: impossible to tell without a dyno ... we don't know what the crower cams produce ...
you'd probably gain a lot more power if you were tuned ;P

he has a mildly built B18C
I knoww I would gain alot if I tune properly but the only way i see it is with AEM EMS, but that kinda expensive for now.
But otherwise do you this that i can do this??

Neuspeed upper strut bar get rid of this..Energy suspension Bushing kit (front and back) I would remove the bushings
I would also remove all the seats except one and loose the interior pannels. I would also run higer comp than 11:5:1 Im talking racing fuel. Or literlly just throw racing fuel in, it will actually help.
Than you should have a shot!

Yeah but the thing is that in my country most cars even though they have the B18C's and the SR20's and the RB25's etc they don't work properly and most of the cars have major suspension problems, that's why i think that I have a shot. And then again this will be video taped and posted in local magazines. (I want the publicity)

If you make it so the the race isnt a full straight line. Lets say canyon race? do what i said and you really do have a shot. Driver skill will mean alot on a road course vs drag course
Call off the bet unless your gonna do some major weight reduction. Take off the strut bar leave the motor mounts. run slicks try to tune your car you might as well spend 1000 on tuning beat this chump and then get your money back. You better take everything thats not need off. power steering, a/c passenger seats carpets back seat everything in the trunk let us know how it ends up and good luck

^i know those 91 si's do.
b18c1 built > d17a built.
goodluck and do plently of weight reduction. remove every piece of junk in the trunk, even the cardboard, rear seats, passenger seat, panels, etc.

and I hope you're running premium fuel with that compression ratio. if not, you're probably detonating which can be damaging, not to mention you lose power.
and you're going to lose unless the guy is a total tool and can't drive. a B18C swapped hatch will own you pretty bad.

B18 in a lightweight hatch has the advantage. Without a dyno you have no idea what kinda power your making. I wouldn't blow a G like that unless I knew for sure what my car was capable of. Just my opinion.

thats tough. those are light and B18s can get fast.
anyway strip the car, but I cant see the point of betting $1000 on this. too risky.

You might wanna make sure your putting down the number's with your set up. I think 14's are def possible with your set up but have you ran it at the track yet. Def get that thing on a dyno and when you run him you better be driving a shell.

I had an ek9 project car for a while with the stock d16 in it with mild mods and extreme weight reduction ghetto style, and it romped lots of good cars rolling on 14s. i say dump everything you can, dash, passenger seats, rear seats, deck, everything. hit the trunk to.
what trans do you have? mt/at? what size tires, rims? get some small, light wheels... only if you had a ecu & tune
oh man, good luck out there.
