I enjoy chirping it off the line and again in 2nd. I have only done ONE launch with full wheelspin and it didnt sound great. I had alot of wheel hop. I dont rape my car. I usualy never launch above 2500RPM because the power gets wasted. I've only been driving stick daily for 4 months. Right now Im practicing rev matching every day. My goal is to be able to drive stick with absolute fluidity and grace before the end of the year.

And then comes winter time. Canada can be mighty fun in the snow. Im kinda kicking myself for getting the SI-G coupe witht he ABS. Takes away a bit of the fun when you want to push the car around but hey, I still have the e-brake. Snow and ice is wonderful because you can slip and slide and drift with almost NO wear and tear. I have never yet damaged any of my cars goofing off on deserted back roads and parking lots. But sometimes it can be scarey. I dont know if any of you have ever lost control going fast on the white stuff before. I left skidmarks once that resembled a DNA strand a football field long without hitting anything LMAO. Just eyeballs and teeth the whole way!

1st of all, rocking back and forth kills clutch life. Umm... autos can also stop at a stop light and not have the tails on, just pop it in neutral and lift e-brakes, but plz dont do that, it's too easy to tell it's an auto when you drop back into D.

Okay, I tried explaining this to my buddy and I'll try here.....

1. Push clutch in
2. Turn key to "start" position but let it go back to the second click so you don't grind it.
3. Select gear *first or reverse*
**the next steps run together, or are all one you could say**
4. Slowly let the clutch out to about halfway, you should feel it grab.
5. As you feel the clutch grab, give it a little gas, not a **** load, just a little and you should
feel the car begin to move forward.
6. Continue to release the clutch and as you release the clutch more, give the car a little
more gas, just little bits if you can't hear it that doesn't mean its not getting any.
8. You should now have no pressure on the clutch and you should be rolling, if not buy an
auto or busted *** car and keep on trying

Just learned driving stick a few months ago. At first, I regreted getting a 5 sp. coupe LX cuz it was so embarrasing when I stalled, But now I'm glad I did. Driving a stick makes you become a part of your car. All it takes is practice, practice practice.

Not everyone knows how to drive a stick, asuming that is like saying everyone on this board is out of high school. There are some people that never had the opportunity to learn, some stated this fact earlier in the thread and I was trying to give them some insight on what you need to do to get going.

Just sitting at the stop light is ok..but when you see people rocking back and forth at a stoplight, now they are burning their clutch..

Yes yes yes. There are several black marks around my old place of residence and also my friends house. I had to have an excuse to get rid of those stock firestones so what better reason to replace them if they have no tread on them

I could not agree more!!! All of my cars except my 2nd one were stick. Nothing in the world compares to driving a stick and actually feeling like you are part of the car. Granted its a vic not a porsche but I love it as a stick
