Need help on fitment

Alright well for my friends birthday i want to buy her a cold air intake for her 01 civic AUTO. and i'm wondering how much difference it makes on the fitment of the intake from m/t to autos? From what i've seen the only CAI that are made for the 01 autos are made by injen and fujito and the rest from AEM and ebay are only for m/t. But i dont really want to spend $200 on an injen intake. So im wondering if the intakes for m/t fill fit or can be moddified to autos. So any info people can give me will be greatly apriciated, thank you.

yo man, you can try and use the search button up at the top.

Basically this question has been asked a lot and no1 really seems to have a solid answer, but there hasnt been any complaints that i've heard from people with an auto buying an intake that was supposed to fit a manual. basicaly your safe i guess kuz they are more or less interchangeable... allthoguh to let you know, u will get more useable power form a short ram intake, which is also safer for your car kuz u dont have to worry about huge puddels spraying up when u drive over them and sucking air into your engine, and killing everything (you did say she was a girl, lots of guys have fvcked their motors up with a cold air intake). anyways- short ram intakes are cheaper too. Injen and fujita dont give you any power increase until 4500 rpm, which is practially useless forsomeone who doesnt race... under 4500rpms, you'r actually loosing horse power and torque.

ummm, aside from that i think your good. Aem is what i got... yeah everoyne has it, but its what makes the most power gains- AEM V2... oh, check the foresalse/foretrade fourm, you will probably be able to catch someone selling one for pretty cheap.

good luck dude.

CAI for our cars go under the battery tray in between the fans and transmission.
The automatic transmission is bigger than the manual, thus taking away precious space that a CAI needs to fit properly.

You can make it fit, but it won't be that pretty.
I had a AEM replica CAI in my automatic and the lower piping needs to be custom mounted (zip ties lol) to something because the bracket connects to an existing bolt thats on the manual transmission only.

You can make just about any 2 piece CAI for an manual fit an automatic, it just won't be perfect.

I would rather get her something else than that....not that i care less about your friendship but girls appreciate less on car products....besides it has minimal gain...with some mods on mounting...

i would rather spend money on speakers....

Ok well if its just the lower piping that needs to be moddified i can fix that, my only real concern was if the auto trans was so much bigger that the curved piping coming up from the intake manifold was to long and would rub against the hood but it sounds like you guys are saying that on both trans the upper intake tubing is the same. Also if anyone could take a picture of how you modded the CAI to your fit your auto(if you have one, i know most of u prob have m/t) or if someone can post a pic of the intake on a m/t and where the bracket connects, thanks.

There is a metal bracket right behind the battery where some wires are secured to.
I zip tied it there.
You will need some dynamat around that area to prevent damage / rattling.
