ok now another question I saw that bridge motorsports posted that they use a fully metal distro block because it will help conduct the electricity better. What is the truth to this. I mean can I by a distro block at my Stereo place? or can i go buy any type of distro block?

Bridge Motorsports kit uses a aluminum distro block, which is better than steel, however, any aftermarket distro block will be better than the one they give you. 'cause usually aftermarket distro blocks comes in either Gold plated or Platinum plated which are a lot better than aluminum. So yes, generally any distro block u buy from a local stereo place will be better than the one provided from the bridge motorsport kit.

yea, i think ppl that actually notice some different is due to the fact that they might have some rust in their connection due bad weather or other reason. maybe you can try ground to more places to see if you notice anything. wouldn't hurt to try.

here's my kit...

http://www.7thgencivic.com/forums/sh....php?p=2094237

It's DIY and i like it... i noticed quicker throttle response, crisper sound from the radio... i also like how it looks under the hood...

i don't think i gained any hp from it though... but i know my whole car is grounded pretty well now...

so um...in conclusion, if u want simple dummy term, just read my posts....
if ur hardcore, read reddawnman's post....

Didn't mean to steal your thunder / hijack the thread I hope you do well in civil eng, it is very cool to build things that will last forever. My hope is that a song I write or a recording I'm on might be something that affects someone forever.

U da man!

Actually, it's due to good grounds

A human being stores electrical charge. Our nerve impulses are electrical, and our skin is like sheeting on a wire, insulating our body and keeping the charges wherever they belong.

If you've ever seen a spark jump, you know that if the voltage is big enough, electricity will jump through the air to discharge a voltage. If you wear rubber shoes (good insulator) and are moving / rubbing in the seat with like wool pants or anythign with silk in it, you create a static electricity charge around yourself. The reason you don't immediately discharge and have electricity flowing through you is because of your skin and those rubber shoes making you a good insulator, and because the human body has a high "resistance" to carrying electron flow. Now, normally you aren't close to a "ground" or something that can return the energy to the natural state inside the car. However, once you touch metal (good conductor) then you make a path with very little resistance to the battery / point of 0 voltage (Because metal is a great conductor), and bam, spark and the "ouch" from the person.

This is the same reason that it's very safe to be in a car in a thunderstorm. if you get hit with lightning, the conductior is the metal body of the car that is around but not going through you (The path from air ->Car -> ground state is easier to pass through than air -> your poor body -> ground state, threrfore you are unharmed as the lightning flows through the car to the ground.

Make any sense? if not, thats my bad, sometimes I DO overcomplicate stuff.

Well I really think that the seat causes alot of creating that shock. Because i guess the material they use just creates alot of static. When I changed my seats to sparco I stopped getting shocked when i got out of my car. But I use to get shocked badly too. I mean when you heard that pop my friends heard the pop on the other side of the car i mean it was loud and strong. lol.

yea, i dunno why either, but for some reason, oem clothes always has so much static....maybe it's the way it was put together or something...machines maybe? i dunno

but yea, um...for the apexi thing...um....i dunno, i heard there's some info on the apexi site now...if u wanna do a read up on it..i seroiusly don't know where to get info dude...i'm sponsored by an aftermarket company in hk called GT Sport, it's actually one of the biggest in hk, and they gave it to me for cheap...around 300cdn shipped..and retail was something like 500cdn? and now i believe they dropped the price...it's like 300cdn now...so i might be able to get it cheaper..i dunno, i've had mine for about 6-7 months now and i absolutely love it because i placed it above the battery and people who walk by can see the apexi symbol glowing under the hood (they can see through the crack between the fender and hood), it's a cool little unit...definitely felt the throttle respond faster....and much much smoother acceleration throughout the entire powerband...

um...the site is http://www.gtsport.com.hk/, but you can't buy it off the site....and there's not really much info on the site either...the conversion rate from canadian to us money is 0.8 or something like that...

just go on www.xe.com for an online conversion calculator

and yea, there's a red led inside the stabilizer and it glows 24/7 unless u unplug it from the battery
