Im saying, why bolt this thing to the motor mount? If you look on the spoon dc5, the brace mounts to the firewall to a point on the head.

there has to be a way for abs and non abs civic to have this work.
don't you feel like an engineer making a new part for the car, LOL out of fustration.

what about going from the water pump housing on the pasenger side of the engine to the back strut mounting bolt. Its a long gap to bridge but it should work for all trim levels with an intake. You just have to make the brackets bigger.

This is a really comon mod in the VW rabit comunity and they have found it to be a substantial improvment over ruber mounts without the noise and vibration issues of PU mounts. It should be a good mod. I am working on a way to measure how much movement there really is so I can see how much range it needs to have. If I figure anything out I will post it here for you guys

to get an idea of engine movement, place the car on jack stand and have someone run the car through the gears and stand at the side of the car and view.
yes and it wont give you good results because the engine wont have any resistance. I'm going to make a movement recording ruler and try that. Its pretty simple, metal ruler, whiteout, hose clamps, duct tape. should work fine. that way I can test it while driving.

I want to make a ring mount that will bolt on the strut tower (w/ a spacer for the other side to keep it even) and then I have to find the best spot on the head and then weld up a bolt on bracket, so Im not totaly sure yet.
I doubt it will show a differance on a dyno. What it should do is help control power delivery and chasis weight shifts. Im actualy mor interested in it for heavy braking then power reasons.

exactly, you wont actualy make more power, but you will put it down to the pavement better. Just like my 8 lbl flywheel, didnt add any power but I made it sooner.....damn dyno ****'s.....j/k

nope....
Ill wait for the dampener
Ive got an idea...it might/might not work
making a bracket from the strut tower bolts moving that lil resivoir and making another bracket to hold the dampener to those two large bolts right next to the engine.

Eh looking at this

I think its a better itdea to drill some holes in the strut tower
But that lil resiviour needs to be moved. I get my digi cam back in like 2 hours...my parents are almost home

We definetly need to fabricate a bracket VERY smilar to that one on the right
should be easy....i hope my blow torch is up to it...and my hands...haha
One more thing....what kind of metal should the bracket be made out of....pretty thick aluminum?? or is that not strong enough
