Clutch safety switch?

My 95 cuvic cx only starts when it feels like it, starter is good, battery is good, fuel pump is good, runs fine when it starts. I have it narrowed down to an ignition issue, at first I suspected the clutch safety switch, but will sometimes start with the steering wheel turned to its locked position. Currently checking connections in steering column all seem good. I'm going back to the clutch safety switch. Any ideas

Re: Clutch safety switch?

last time I suspected my clutch switch (on my 2002), I bypassed the switch with a momentary button switch, still acted the same. On a whim, smacked the crap out of the starter solenoid and had zero issues after. Starter was good, just a little hung up on something

Re: Clutch safety switch?

Lol...until recently I carried around a sawed off broom stick and rubber mallet to knock on the starter/solenoid when me old '95 wouldn't start (intermittent). After 6 months I finally replaced ithe starter with a used Honda oem. Starts up everytime now on first try.

Re: Clutch safety switch?

I used the butt end of a 14" ½"-drive breaker bar to tell the starter it was naughty mechanically agitate the starter solenoid.

Re: Clutch safety switch?

Makes sense I got frustrated one day and smacked the starter and solenoid with a wrench and it started, thought that just validated my opinion that the starter worked I'm gonna smack some **** around, thanks
