Oil light- burning oil high rpms

Hi first just wanna say this site is awesome already got some great stuff off here. Anyway I have a 95 civic lx, just did a top end rebuild also just bought the car, but I am burning oil at high rpms. The oil light is on. Also the pistons looked great and the head was completely re- done. My thinking was its the oil pressure valve since the oil light is on and it only happens at Rpms. Am I right in my thinking or is it something else...also it smoke like that before the top end rebuild.

Re: Oil light- burning oil high rpms

The oil light is on
If it really has oil pressure, then likely a bad sender unit or shorted wire.
Need further checking.

Or were you saying the oil light is only on at high RPMs?

I think the oil light is just a sender unit, it's always on and my car is still In tacked. I recently did the top end and my cylinders were perfect so I think my ri gs are ok. But web I take offf the oil fill cap off the valve cover it blows lots of air, so this means PVC system clod or something?

Simple tests confirm or deny fault.
In tacked.
"intact".

/Grammar ****.

Staring at the crosshatch pattern in the cylinder walls is no way to evaluate rings.
You already said it smokes at high RPM, that's usually caused by rings.
I take offf the oil fill cap off the valve cover it blows lots of air, so this means PVC system clod or something?
Could be, but it's likely to be blow-by from worn rings.

Absolutely. The oil control rings could be completely missing yet a test would still show good compression.
