High RPM screach?

anyone get a little high pitched screach when hitting high RPM levels? I'm talking like a couple houndred rpm before red-line and the engine is nice and warm...any ideas? also it wasn't a constant high rpm it was a quick burst up then when I heard it I let off.

I heard it right before my engine hit the cut off point in RPM's (@6800) and the rev limiter shut it down.

I live on a dirt road and sometimes dust gets up into the pulleys. My truck would screach at high rpms if it was really dusty. I don't know about on the civic. Mine's never done it.
