Odometer/Gauge cluster problem
Hey, i recently bought a 93 ex coupe. the car runs fine and all, except i noticed that when i filled the tank up and i had to fill it up again in 1 week..it was 8 gallons of gas and i went 135 miles..which is liek 17 mpg..which means something isnt right. So i also noticed that my speedometer bugs out sometimes..like it wil just jump up and down or stay at 0 when im going like 20.
Then i also saw that sometimes my odometer freezes..it will stay where it is and not change for like 5 miles..then it will start counting again..so i think the problem has something to do with the gauge cluster or can it be more than that? and do you think if i just replaced the gauge cluster it should be fine?
any help would be appreciated..thanks

uel Gauge Reads Low on
1992-95 Civic
A low fuel gauge reading on a 1992-1995 Civic may be
caused by a poor ground. To check it, remove the
driver’s side door sill and look at the G551 terminal. If
the terminal is loose or corroded, unbolt it, clean it,
apply dielectric grease (P/N 08798-0001, H/C 2963890)
to both sides, and reinstall it.
THIS MITE REPAIR THE FUEL GAS PROBLEM.
AS FAR AS THE SPEEDOMETER PROBLEM, IT IS THE VEHICLE SPEED SENSOR .
VSS SENSOR LOCATED ON THE TRANSMISSION , WHEN REPLACING IT TRY NOT TO LOOSE THE SMALL DRIVE LINK . IT IS HELD ON WITH TWO BOLTS ,AND ONE ELECTRICAL CONNECTOR . START WITH THAT. GOOD LUCK.
