Window won't roll down completely...

My window recently decided it would only roll down about 5 inches and then stop. Then when I go to roll it back up it won't go...I have to wait about 5-10 minutes before it will actually roll back up. Any ideas of what could be wrong? I'd rather not buy a completely new motor and install it, only to find out that wasn't really the problem...

Test, don't guess.

Use a test light to see if power AND ground reach the motor
Use jumper wires to a battery to operate the motor

I don't have a test light unfortunately...Any other way that I can test it out? I'm guessing no but figured I'd ask...

12v test light $3 at Autozone.
Make one from a #194 license bulb and some wire, paper clips, and black tape.

Hell, unbend the wires on the #194 bulb and stick it in the connector for the window motor

Those test lights are great & cheap. They provide a load a dmm cannot, and have the needle tip you can pierce insulation to test without damage or need to expose wire.
