Rep Power: 0 Suspicious of Alternator - Blinker Weirdness and Rough Idle
2000 Civic DX Coupe
Rough Idle and the left blinker (only left) varies speed depending on what else is going on. If no headlights and no brakes it blinks faster than normal. With headlights on or brakes applied it blinks slower than normal.
Wondering if diode(s) in alternator is going bad causing a/c ripple in the system. No?
Any way to test it without removing the alternator?
Last note... I do have an aftermarket audio system with amps, etc. but it has been installed for years without these symptoms.

If you think a good mechanic is expensive, try hiring a bad one

Have alternator checked.
Clean all ground locations.
Reset ECU... http://www.clubcivic.com/forum/threa...eset-ecu.1180/
If you do an ECU reset after disconnecting negative battery terminal: Instead of waiting 5 minutes..just turn on your headlights, flash brights, and push brake pedal a few times to drain residual charge,,reattach negative start car.
