Post moved.
Surge repeatedly from 2000 RPM to 1200 RPM after warmup, and surges endlessly instead of idling.....
Common things to look for:
Check Engine Light on, and codes?
Vacuum leaks, stuck IAC valve, low coolant level in the radiator or air pockets in the cooling system.

Sputtering and pulling
1 have a 1996 Honda Civic LX, and after it gets warm and I drive for a while, the car starts sputtering and pulling like it's going to turn off, at the same time the RPM starts going crazy up and down between the 1- 2, it, slows down like the car just ran out of gas, and I replaced the fuel pump and fuel filter, the crank sensor, timing belt, Distributor, spark plugs and wire's, coolant temperature sensor, oxygen sensor, the main relay, and the Computer, I also, replaced, all fluids with Honda brand liquids. And I still can't find what is making my car sputter and pulling like it's going to shut down. Can someone please help me with this issue, I put so, much money into this car and it's still doing the same thing,?

IAC is screwed to the front of the throttle body.
Goggled....this looks pretty close

Tap on it with something like a screwdriver handle and see anything changes at all. The valve can get stuck open due to carbon and goo and cause this, and tapping on it may help the valve to move a bit. If tapping it changes the action at all, it probably needs a good cleaning.

Thanks that's crazy because I was going to change the Throttle position sensor, I joined just bought one yesterday but, the screws don't have any head to unscrew it so I YouTube how to test it and is got to read 5.0 volt and I seen the iac valve, but wasn't sure if that had anything with making the car act like it's going to shut down or make it start pulling, but I'm going to check it, some one also told me about some type of sensor or small tank like by the fuel tank, Do you have any idea the name of that part by the fuel tank.?

There's a damn good reason Honda didn't make it easy.
so I YouTube how to test it and is got to read 5.0 volt
When the sensor is unplugged you may see either 0 or 5v on the signal return wire, I forget which. When connected it will read the TPS position voltage.

Holy cow you replaced a lot of stuff......,If this problem was all caused by a stuck IAC valve you are gonna kick yourself.
Re: 1996 civic LX, sputter and RPM going crazy
About the iac valve, I just spoke to my brother about it and we already cleaned it all up, it has that little rubber gasket around it, , but he telling me about a sensor or a small tank like on the side or on top of the fuel tank in the back, I didn't take pictures but I heard if there is messed up wire's that it can cause yhe fuel pressure to go back and forth.,?
Re: 1996 civic LX, sputter and RPM going crazy
I did put a lot of money into the car like$700 dollars and it still pulling, before it useto turn off then that stopped after replacing a few things, but when it sputter and pulling it just slow the car down and then I stepp on the gas pedal and then accelerate and it goes away then after a while it happens again,?
