1999 Civic EX Manual D16Y7 engine
Wire harness running up beside the alternator beside the belts came loose. I repaired a short circuit. The connector it plugged into which goes into the main engine wire harness pulled off of the VERY short 3 pin wire segment.
I need to know what system that is, I cannot find it in the service manual.
It comes out of the frame about an inch below the alternator, up and over the alternator then into a connector.
Also, I have to figure out how to reseat the 3 pin wires into the connector once I find a new one, but I dont know what wire goes where.
Wires are blue w orange stripe, brown w black stripe, white w red stripe on the engine harness side.
The connector on the other side is a previous repair by a previous owner and the colors do not match up any more.
Printed on the connector is
37500
P2F
8V18

I'm not sure I can identify the system through these pictures, but I will give it a try, thank you for the link.
Further background:
I was going through wire harnesses looking for the Fuse 15 short circuit, and found a very bad short circuit in that wire harness. The only thing is, I have no idea if it was the CORRECT short circuit!
I could sleep well tonight if it WAS part of the Fuse 15 bundle, and all I need to do is go to a wrecker and find a replacement connector.

enter your car, try to find the part, at the least you can identify what they are, hopefully. the parts the link shows are for my car, but was to illustrate that you would have drawings to refer to.

1999 Honda Civic EX-G 4 DR SEDAN
4 cyl Gasoline 1.6 VTEC
Canada Built Vehicle
Stamp on front says its a D16Y7.
No indication of ever having an engine replaced, and I have all documents of the entire life of the car, plus during purchase, I had it confirmed that the engine belongs to the car.
Im guessing an EX-G is different than the normal EX. This has everything, except fog lights, sun roof and leather seats.

...and the D16Y8 VTEC engine that is standard on every EX. That is just really strange. I've never heard of an EX with a Y7 from the factory. I guess it's because it's an EX-G and/or Canadian Market.

I have learned it is the wire for the Crankshaft Position Sensor. With it disconnected, I get the P1337 error code.
Now I know why I kept getting crankshaft assembly when I searched the part number on the connector
So now I need to rewire it into the wire harness, but the connector came off the wire harness side of the connection.
I cannot for the life of me find a good enough picture to pick up what color wire goes where on the connector, nor can I find anything in the service manual talking about what wire is what.
Anyone know how to match up wires?

Maybe a good way is to search for the part online to see if you can see the wiring.

Sdaidoji, thank you for your help and that link. Sure I have the Y7 version of that, but Honda generally sticks to the same color scheme in adjacent models. I'm gonna go "under" on the weekend to see how things match up. I suspect that since I either have to buy a complete harness to get a connector, or snip a connector at a wrecker (which I would have to sneak cause that is offside) I will just use solder sleeves and a heat gun to splice them together sans connectors.

The info that I found at the ARRC site was this:
They called it the "crankshaft speed fluctuation sensor"
At Sensor________After 3 pin conn
Pin 1 = WHT--> WHT/RED
Pin 3 = BLU --> BLU/RED
Pin 2 = BLK --> BRN/BLK
hth, take a look and see what you think.
