How do you get the headunit...
What car is this for? Cause in a Civic SI, i dont think it can be done because of some bolts that grip on to the chassis behind the deck. Well at least ive been told thsi by quite a few people so. But jsut try different face kit adapters.

Actually this is somethign I am thinking of doing with mine too. Seems like there would be a kit for it. There is room for it and the stock metal bracket behind the radio/ac plastic has bolts to screw it down to. So I guess the trick is either to find a kit or make it yourself.
Anyone who finds the kit let us know!

Just drop it down and use a peice of stereo strap to fix it in place....most HU's should have a bolt hole in the back for a strap. Then you will need fiberglass to make a peice for the front so it looks good, or you could leave it as is without the front peice.
In my Xterra I used a wood piece for the hole and used the strap you mentioned to mount it in the back and then the bracket on the front, that worked nicely. I'd like to get sometrhing premade for this for the honda tho... I looked around online earlier and saw nothing so far but Im sure someone makes something. If not I will have to whip something up I guess...

In the pic that is posted, I'm almost positive that's an American International kit#HONK828 flipped upside down. I know it says it will fit the si, not sure about civics. and it wouldnt fit flush either, it would sit back a little.
