2 questions!!!

ok first question is simple...since the type r 6x9's dont fit in the rear without modifications should I get the type s 6x9's that fit perfect? I heard their new type s speakers sound nice...I just want the the rear fill, will I be disappointed compared to the type r's?

and the other question is...

Im not gonna get my components and rear speakers for awhile probably next winter, but I'll have my subs really soon...I wanted to set up everything so that all I gotta do is swamp out the front and rear speakers...would it be ok to run the front and back speakers off my alpine mrv540 amp, and just relax on the volume so I dont blow them and adjust the crossovers to cut out the bass...or should I leave it to my deck to take care of the fronts and rear speakers and just hook up the subs to my other amp? I have a Pioneer DEH-P9600MP headunit...

thanks in advance

Well... I am happy with my stock rears (i.e. just new fronts). If I were you, I wouldn't buy aftermarket rears at all. It's personal preference, so it's not really something you'll get a straight answer for. Probably why no one has replied.

I have the type S fronts and rears, and they sound really great. I still have the stock HU also. I'll be buying a blaupunkt head unit and Nakamichi 50w x4 amp pretty soon, which should make it incredible. I'd get the type s rears. Go to etronics.com, you can get them for like $50 I think. Maybe less.

I just looked up that amp, and I think you'll be ok if you're careful. It doesn't take much to blow the stock speakers, so be aware. Hell, even the stock CD player's pitiful amp can blow them. Like you said, just relax on the volume, and I think you'll be fine.

I have mine amped right now, have been for a while, they seem to be holding up really well, even when i turn it up. I have the gains relatively low though. I say go for it, I even think they sound a bit better now that they're amped.

yeah Im gonna do it...**** I figure if I blow them, it gives me an excuse to buy my new speakers sooner, it would make me feel better about having to spend more money...lol
