do you like ? tv/head unit
Well I was bored one day and I decided to move my hu down next to the e-brake. Hacking that bracket was a pain in the *** with a hacksaw but I was able to do it in about 2 and a half hours I think. But,
I accidently cut the hole too big (wide), cause I was using a hacksaw. So, I have to buy a new plastic piece from hondaautomotiveparts.com for 10 bucks or I have to somehow mold something that looks like plastic to hide it.
Plus, now I've got a square "hole" where the deck used to be, what should I put there? I think I can hack up the piece that held the deck to fit any type of tv I want, but my deck doesnt have video inputs (means I'm gonna need a dvd player soon, any suggestions?).
PS I wanted to revive this thread for all to see its glory.
I'll get some pics soon and post a new topic, once I fix the opening. Only problem is I will be goin with a big hole where the deck was for a while cause I cant afford **** right now.

lol glad to see even after 8 months ppl are still diggin the custom headunit thing. mines is still working very well, have had no problems with skipping.
mounting a screen flush like i have in the pictures looks nice but its not good to see. i had to mount mine at an angle so that the "black" area in movies are visible at a regular seating position.

for your empty space u can get just a motorized screen. or motorized with DVD if u dont already have a seperate one like me. once u have that u can mount it in the bottom DIN, and mount something like gauges or VAFC2 in the top DIN.
anyone know if there is a way to make some kind of sliding bracket for my screen? have it sit on rails and slide out and flip up manually was my idea. becuase i plan on getting turbo soon and my guages will use the top DIN.

My car used to look like that before I crashed it. Also had a PS2 molded to the glovebox. Great minds think alike. :-P
I paid for mine though, was too lazy to do it myself. It was a first for a 2k1 Civic as far as I know. Good job though, makes me wish I still had my car. :'(
