Immobilizer Antenna?

Hey all, while installing some new gauges I found this loop of wire which I'm guessing is an immobilizer antenna. However I thought the oem unit is a plastic loop and box.

perhaps aftermarket?

The OEM has its 'antenna' loop embedded in the plastic ring around the barrel of the ignition lock (you're staring at it)

That wrap or wire you discovered----follow it to its origin and I bet it's gonna lead you to an aftermarket (remote start??) unit
