I don't see why you would have any gauge problems becuase the head unit isnt connected to the gauges in any way that I know of. It's possible that you pulled too hard on one of the other wires behind the dash and theres a short in the gauge wire or something But i had absolutly no problems installing my head unit and I was short on change so I just cut all the wires from the factory head unit. check the fuses under the dash and under the hood and beyond that I don't know what to tell you. I have a alarm and remote start and keyless entry also and The aftermarket cd player didnt and should not effect your radio. It's also possible that you crossed the ground and the positive wires on your head unit when you were cutting them from the factory harness. remove the panel right above your gas and break pedals and thats where all of the alarm wiring is at... there are a ton of fuses attached to the alarm unit so Check each and every one of those and My guess is that one of those is blown so once you replace that fuse your lock problem should be solved... good luck!

ok i found 4 fuses by the brake pedal for the alarm which are connected to 4 black boxes. all 4 fuses are good. i dunno what else is up....one thing i have noticed is that when the car is off with no key, the interior lights dont work AND the locks dont work. the alarm doesnt seem to notice that the doors are open when the alarm engages....
some cars....
have the alarm go through the radio.... buying an aftermarket harness sometimes "jumper" the proper wires... You probably have a few wires "not in use right now" I would re'solder, heat shrink tube all u cut.. goto circuit city.. buy the 15$ harness, and rock on....
yeah the alarm/keyless entry often goes through the radio.. do you have a radio installed at all? sometimes there are connections that have to be made and in place in order for the locks to work.. weird but i dunno why.. so put in some type of radio and yeah go to circuit city and get the harness.. your radio you bought should have come with one harness.. which you will match the wires up on to the harness you buy from circuit city.. then just use that new lil piece of cable you made as the go between, to connect the radio to the car's electrical system
He has an aftermarket alarm and remote starter installed therefore it wouldn't go through the alarm harness...I have an alarm and remote start and keyless entry on my car and an aftermarket cd player and there are no wires that need to be changed around on the radio harness in order for the alarm to work... I really think that it's one of the fuses because one time I was messing around in my car with some wires and i blew one of my fuses and my locks wouldnt work and the gauges were messed up and some other stuff and it was a fuse under the hood that was blown... double check all of ur fuses under your hood... look at them carefully, I believe it was an accessorie fuse that blew. If that dosent work... take it to a good car audio shop that does alarms and radios or take it up to your dealer and see what they have to say.

The radio is some what connected to the radio.
When you dim the lights on the dash, guess what the radio dims too.
Check for a loose connection.
As for the doors not locking check the fuses and any wiring. Always solder wires crimping sucks.
Also when ever working with anything that uses power on your car dis-connect the battery!!!!

I would put EVERYTHING back together, and put factory radio back in, then go from there. See if it still happens. Then go from there. Rule of thumb is NEVER cut factory harness it always makes a mess of things. But i know you could'nt wait..been there done that
They sell reverse harnesses just in case you cut your factory harness off. It's basically the harness that plugs into the back of the factory unit. I have one that you can buy if you need it, $5 brand new in package.

Re: I CUT FACTORY HARNESSS
Naw don't lock it! If anyone knows where I can buy said "reverse harness" I'd appreciate it. Homeboy I bought my car from cut the factory harness and I have yet to find one to re-wire it.
Bump for a reverse harness link! Or hell, even a junkyard di-cut job. I'll do the work with a wiring diagram and soldering iron!
