New to me 01 Civic EX. Trying to figure out what the factory/dealer option would be that goes in this dash blank.

Or even better would be if anyone can point me to a USB socket that would fit nicely.

Re: dash blank - what goes here?

It's a switch blank.

Foglight switch went there on some of the dealer accessory kits.

Put whatever you want in there. Modify the insert to your hearts' content.

Cluster swap (mileage will stay with each cluster) Common on early models.

Fully intend to mod away. But if I can find an OEM switch for what I want, I like to go that route. And it sounds like there is. Thanks.

Buy a Type A to MALE TO FEMALE USB jack, and then mount it next to the handbrake where there is a small plastic trim that easily pops out. That is what I did alongside an AUX. the reason is you can upgrade your head unit to one of those touchscreens with the AUX and USB at the rear, and it will be a really clean look and convenient.

Then for wiring run a 6'ft USB and 6ft AUX under the plastic trim, and hook it up to the back of your head unit. Now this only works well if your head-unit has inputs at the rear.

I bought the 6 foot USB Jack and AUX Jack from this Malaysian website and it is nice and thread locking attachment procedure.

Here is my setup
