Adding power adapter near visor

I'd like to add a 12V power wire near the rear view mirror that's off when the car is off. I could tap into the wires from the cigarette lighter, but how does one get the wire up through the door pillar toward the rear view mirror?

If you remove the driver side a pillar you can slip the wire from under the dash up to the pillar and run it across the front of the headliner. Once you get the pillar off (it pulls off) you take a coat hanger and shove it down the hole that you will see between the dash and pillar. Take the wires that you tapped into the lighter with and tape or tie them to the coat hanger. Pull the coat hanger out and the wires will follow.

Okay, that doesn't sound that bad. I had not seen any info on how to remove the pillars. Are there possibly any videos on doing this?

Not any that I know of. It's really easy to remove. You just need to pry it off with your fingers or an interior trim tool (flathead). Start at the top near the headliner and glass.

Re: Adding power adapter near visor

For a constant voltage LOW CURRENT source that is already up there... use the map lights, or the dome constant 12 volts.

Add a very low current inline fuse possibly. (3-5 Amps)
