cell hpines.. no.. if that battery gets too hot it will overcharge.. possibly rupture.. also the speakers end up sounding really off when they're hot lol...the surrounds become VERY soft and you hear alot of distortion

I live in AZ, go back and forth from Tucson to Phoenix and we reach well past 110F. Your CDs should be just fine, keep them out of direct sunlight for long periods of time for that will warp them (destroy them) and they should be just fine in your car in a CD case of some sort. Mohawkboom is right on about the cell phone but another thing that can happen to the cell phone with direct sunlight is you can lose your LCD screen permanently; sometimes it is temporary and other times it can be permanently based on the length of time in direct sunlight!!! Just take the cell phone with you!

haha, I was really wondering why you went off on cellphones, but i'm glad you did, i usually leave my phone in the car :-/ I like the post tho, start off about cell phones, go on about the speaker surrounds when all he asked was about CDs you're still my hero

Be careful with those cases (books) and CDs especially burned ones. The plastic sleeve in the book and the film on the top of the CD can get sticky and become stuck together in the heat. Then when you go to pull it off, it can take some of the reflective film off the CD rendering it unusable. Alot of people think the bottom of the CD is the part to take care of, but in reality it is the label side. Try it, take a CD-R and scratch at the label. You will see from the bottom that the CD is now clear in that spot.

Jewel cases are your best bet, and far better than those books in high heat situations.
