Wire harness or new speaker wire?

Should I just get the Scosche HA08 wire harness, or should I get new speaker wire when installing a new HU? What are the pro's and con's of each?

If your running the speakers off the HU just get the wirin harness..Keeps things cleaner.. easier isntall..and you don't damage OEM wiring.

The main reason why I'm considering running new speaker wire is that I don't know what to do about the end connectors of the OE wiring. Right now I just have a spare piece of wire jammed into them and then conencted up to the speaker. If I could buy a male receptacle that fits into those OE plugs, then I would hook up wire to it and then I'de be happy. The only way I can have a solid connection with the OE wiring is if I cut those male receptacles off. What's the point of buying a wire harness then? Is there another way?

Cut the OEM wiring.. buy some spade terminals..crimp them to the end.. attach to speakers.. or just solder them on..

Well yeah, but what about when I want to return my car to stock condition? You see, my plan is to get the last model year of the 7th gen civic coupe and transfer all of my modifications to my new car. I wouldn't want to cut the OE male receptacles off and then re-splice them back on. That is an option, but I just hate destroying stuff like that. Hmm...

i know when you buy components from crutchfield, they give you plugs that plug directly into the factory harness. maybe you could contact them and score a few from them.
