Im looking at maknig the cleanest possible audio system so im trying to eliminate all of the weakpoints. Anyways how did you guys connect your wires behind your hu, in your doors etc... Did you just use the old twist/ ET way or is there wire connectors you can get? Ive tried butt connectors but the wires are too small for the ones i got..

PLEASE only solder. any connector you put on the wire will create a "weakpoint" or point of resistance which will drop voltage and decrease signal strength. See my thread on Amps for more description of loss of voltage

But please only soldered wires.

PS You cant spell Butt without Butt Connector

okay, thats pretty sweet considereing i just got a soldering gun.

How would i solder the wires? put a piece of wood under them and solder them together? You cant really solder in midair...

Solder yes, Use a "western union splice" and heat shrink where possible.

when soldering wire to the speaker terminals, dont get it too hot!! that can damage the voice coil.

I've used crimped butt connections for most of the newer work I've done without incident - I've soldered in the past and you certainly can't go wrong with it.
