Grounding question
Grounding question
This link [Won't allow me to post link, so here it is 1. Check the ground, resand the surface and the actual terminal where you're connecting it. Use a screw designed for grounding (you can buy them at lowes/home depot, they're green). Drill a new ground as opposed to grounding under a bolt, check for gas tank clearance.] talks about removing alternator whine from you car. Number 1 on this list mentions drilling a new ground, I want to drill one somewhere under or behind the center console/radio/dash area. What will I need to watch out for when I do this? Thanks

just run the wire into the engine bay and use one of the factory grounds or make a new one. or even easier connect to the negative battery terminal.

no need to drill a new hole or buy special screws. i think for home wiring, green means ground and that is why grounding screws are green. they are no better for wiring, in fact they are worse if anything, because they are coated or painted or whatever.
moving the ground might get rid of your noise, but it is not a surefire way.
