How to make Head lights come on automatically
How to make Head lights come on automatically
I have a 5-door Hb civic (european) and was wondering if it is possible to wire your head lights to come on with a turn of a key?
Thanks for assistance, A

From the auction description:
For added safety, Lights On! can also be installed so your cars headlights will turn on whenever the engine or the windshield wipers are turned on.

The main reason for this is that it is impossible to see in daylight if any of the three buttons are on (air circulation, A/C, window heating), since it is obligatory in our country to have the headlights on day and night.
And not to forget them
I was thinking if there is some relay I can stick in or something not requiring too much interfeering with wires.
Thanks so far, A

because in theory its gets darker when it rains. So in their ultimate wisdom they made a law that says since it gets darker when it rains and you use your wipers when it rains you must turn on your headlights if you are using your wipers. Also I think it helps you see on comping cars through the rain if they have their lights on..
OK.
I thought this over and this is what I want to do.
Result will be: key turned to contact, engine oil light out - headlights on. With a twist of a headlight switch to position lights - headlights off. Headlight switch on - headlights on.
I will have a friend making the circuit to deal with so many inputs to control the relay for lights.
There is just one thing. Do I have to tap the engine oil light at the cluster or is there the easier way to do it?
Thank you, nice day, A

Hm - I wouldn't mess with a light dependent on a sensor like that. Perhaps instead of tapping the engine oil light, you could tap into the parking brake, like how people with LCD's in their cars are supposed to that way you can't watch video unless the pbrake is on. I figure it's a ground, right? So then you just need a 12v to switch the relay, then 12v fused power from the battery to the headlights.
