i didn't really want to criticize your post PP, i merely want to point out that everything you read on the internet might not be written by an expert on the subject or contain 100% accurate information. that is all.

not a problem, i just read it wrong, since it was closest to my post. i know that some of the points that i quoted are somewhat in accurate, but that read did help me a lot in understanding things i was questioning about caps. there is also a reply in the latest CA&E mag about caps, batteries and alternators, but i dont feel like typing it out. it helped me some as well. again, i have never used a cap, and i may eventually use one, but for now, i'll stick with my optima redtop, and the ordered alternator i have on the way. btw, the normal sized redtop will fit in our battery box, and its cheaper than the group 51 size.
