which wire controls milage
just wondering which of the guage cluster wires controls the odometer. and is there anyway of disabling it. any help is appreciated.
GREEN Connector:
Blue: From ECM/PCM, Tach input signal
White/Red: Constant 12 v +
Yellow: Switched 12V+
Blue/White: From ECM/PCM And VSS input signal
Yellow/Black: From fuel level sending unit
White/Green: From multiplex control unit
Black: Ground
Pink: (Canada Vehicles only) Washer fluid level switch
White/Blue: (Canada Vehicles only) DRL Control unit
Black/Yellow: Security control unit
Blue/Yellow: Cruise control unit
Pink/Blue: OPDS unit (Side airbags)
BLUE Connector:
Black: Ground
green/orange: From ECM/PCM
Blue/Red: From ABS Control unit
Pink: From SRS unit
Red/Black: Supplies 12V+ for dash backlights
Red: Supplies switched ground for dash lights
Green/Red: Left turn signal indicator
Green/Yellow: Right turn signal indicator
Red/Blue: Combination light switch
Blue/Orange: Immobilizer control unit
Red/Yellow: From no 15 fuse under hood
White/Red: From no 9 fuse under hood
Yellow/Red: From oil pres switch

I'm not sure. I know if I were an auto manufacturer trying to prevent odometer fraud, I'd put in some type of setting so that if there's not power coming in from the VSS wire, then nothing on the cluster would work. I don't know if this is how it actually is, but there's only one way to find out...

just wondering isnt there a way that dealerships check you mialage and see if it matches your cluster. i was told that by someone but isnt out milage tracked on our cluster.

ya but you can go for 3 months on a car and only put 100 miles on it ...
most dealerships only pay attention to the cluster anyways... they arent going to plug up anything and look for mileage anywhere else

ok well an update on this. i took the blue/white wire off and the odometer did stop reading the miles. the catch is the mph is not workin so yea. oh yea and + one rep 01honciv

why didnt you just unplud the vss at the trans? it will catch up with you one day. mileage is recorded at every oil change place, dealership, and anywhere else they ask your mileage. carfax will tell all. it will show your car went a year or some **** with no mileage change? its people like you that make buying used cars a pain in the ***.
