Two hondas
Two hondas
Have a 2002 Honda sedan lx with 260k km,bought a 2005 Honda sedan se with 230k km for the daughter. Her car seems to have more power fair amount more.,both are manuals. Why both have the same motors?Wouldn't bother me much if mine was the faster one lol.

Re: Two hondas
Tranny may have been swapped, I did that with my gold car, the VTEC trans has shorter gears to make it sportier/faster
Brakes could be dragging,
Brakes could be dragging,
Re: Two hondas
Maybe your catalytic converter is more plugged up..
Are you sure she she doesn’t have any speed stickers on her car, those make a real difference especially when your have 4 or more.
Seriously though, fouled plugs, clogged cat, clogged air filter, dragging brakes all can make a noticeable performance drop.

Re: Two hondas
Well both bought used so dought of the Trent swap.if the cat was pluged or restricting would it not show up with dash lights..runs smooth would plugs make that much diff? Will check plugs and air filter
Re: Two hondas
I know this doesn't mean much but the previous owner is BMW shop mechanic that did the belt clutch mataince. Runs smooth starts good but seems flat has mor pep in the upper rpm .when shifting motor sure won't lug must shift.

Re: Two hondas
pros: none, car was designed to have it. it's not a restriction like they used to be back in the day
cons: illegal pretty much everywhere, check engine light will be on, fuel mileage usually decreases, bad for the environment, exhaust will stink with no cat, etc

Re: Two hondas
I used a similar product I got at canadian tire in my gold car. It had an intermittent P0420 code.
It worked for at least 30,000kms, but then the car got written off

Re: Two hondas
nope, but the check engine stayed off.
quick check to see if the cat is clogged would be to remove the primary o2 sensor and take it for a drive. see if it performs better

Re: Two hondas
performance? no, mileage maybe a bit.
get a scanner that does live data and you can watch the voltage swing back and forth, a new sensor will sweep quickly, an older one will be slow
