Should I use...

So on the trunk of my car there is a small rust spot, about the size of...well lets just say its small. About the size of this smile face --> . My question is should I use touch up paint on it? I searched around and found some topics on touch up paint but only about how bad it looks for trying to fix a long scrape.

Thanks for any help.

Sand it to the point there isnt any rust left, prime it, then use touch up paint. Sanding between coats of primer and paint is optional- do it if you you can ruff up the paint more so it has something to hold on to.

Alright, Im defintely going to do that. Thanks TRIZ.

Anyone have any good experiences with touch paint? I know it will look better than a tiny rust spot, but just want to get some opinions.

Re: Should I use...

i recently used touchup paint all over my car. it wont match perfectly but it looks a ton better than rust. get some rust dissolver gel and use that to take the rust off. put a lil bit on and let it sit a minute or two but no longer. it wont hurt the surrounding paint. then wipe off excess gel and put touchup paint on. sanding is just gonna make a worse mess.

if you want, go to honda and buy touch up paint, its a lacquer base so it has clear already in it, and itll match much better, it wont match exactly, but, itll be close.
