I'm going to be filling my BMXA trans tonight when i get home, and reading this post about the Auto Trans tear down, clutch pack replacement by this post....

says DEXTRON IV is safe to use...
My total bill? original flush (16liters dexronVI and trans cleaner/conditioning ,many cans of brake cleaner (some for original diagnosis) (also to clean dissemble trans).
2 case gaskets (20$)
3 clutch discs (3X $7)
~8l dexronVI (sorry Honda your oil is expensive and was told dexron works ok)

i would never use any "other" brand except for valvoline maxlife dex/merc atf (without stop leak additive).

i topped up my tranny once in an emergency using "mobil one super" ATF,
that was over 2 years ago and about 80,000km ago, never had a problem, its still in there today,
however, i dont think i would use it if i was changing the fluid,
i didnt use much though, probably less than 1/4 liter

I have used honda z1, mobile 1 super, amsoil and castrol import ATF without any issue.
Right now, i 'm running amsoil and castrol with lubeguard red protectant without any shudder. I try to do a drain and re-fill once a year.
